More than 3,000 people lost their lives and thousands more were injured in a 7.8-magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal's capital Kathmandu and its surrounding areas on April 25, 2015. That earthquake was followed by a large number of aftershocks, including one that measured 7.3 on May 12. Many have been left homeless by the disaster and living in makeshift camps around Kathmandu. Now the country is reported to be running out of water and food.

“We have wonderful people working at Gurkha’s International Headquarters who wanted to come together to make a difference,” concluded Hansotia. “It’s true that when you surround yourself with good people, good things happen. We hope to make a difference for those in need.”
