Armand Assante
The new face of the brand

Gurkha Cigars is proud to announce the addition of highly acclaimed actor Armand Assante to our team. Mr. Assante will appear in various Gurkha ads including magazines and websites and will attend select Gurkha Cigars events.

Boasting several of the most highly rated premium cigars on the market today, the Gurkha Cigar brand has enjoyed a spectacular rise since launching in 1989. Uniquely appealing to enthusiasts of all kinds, the Gurkha cigars are popular amongst big spenders, spending all the way up to $15,000 for a box of 20 of the most expensive cigars in the world, the His Majesty Reserve, to affordable favorites such as the Red Rothchild priced under $10.

Coming on as the face of the brand for our new advertising campaign is cigar aficionado and Emmy-winning and four-time Golden Globe-nominated actor Armand Assante. Kicking off the upcoming summer and golf season, Assante’s ad will appear in Smoke Magazine, Mob Candy Magazine and more found on newsstands nationwide. See the full ad

Splurge On Smokes
by StarPulse.com
What's an ideal gift for nearly any celebrity to receive as a way to relax from their never-ending work schedules? Forget tickets to St. Croix or the French Riviera. How about the most expensive produced cigars retailing at $15,000 a box? His Majesty's Reserve, a luxurious smoking line from Gurkha Cigars, is made from the priciest cognac with an aged wrapper from the Dominican Republic that holds a secret blend of tobaccos from around the world.

Gurkha Cigars were recently sent to Brad Pitt and Matthew McConaughey as a congratulations present for the arrival of their children. Tyson Beckford was also seen smoking a Gurkha Cigar at the 5W Summer Soiree. Even New York Yankees players Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter enjoy winding down with a Gurkha, created centuries ago by colonial soldiers whom couldn't get enough of India's beloved tobacco. Now put that in your pipe and smoke it!

A Cigar To Die For
by 15 Minutes Magazine
MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY celebrated the birth of a baby boy by firing up a Gurkha Cigar. We hear that Brad Pitt and Adrien Brody are also fans of this high-end luxury stogie.

Kaizad "Kaiser" Hansotia bought the brand for a mere $149 on a trip to India in the late ‘80s. He sparked new life into the Gurkha brand. With experience in the premium watch business, Kaiser created boxes that enhanced the cigar. The limited edition boxes are as prized as the rare cigars. Last year only five camel-bone Black Dragon boxes of 100 ultra premium cigars were produced and sold for $115,000. A less expensive version costs $250 a box.

World's Most Expensive Cigar
by TheBachelorGuy.com

Gurkha takes the term "burning through money"
to a new level. Considered by many to be
the Rolls Royce of cigars, they're also
known for making exclusive high-end
smokes catering to collectors. Like their
Black Dragon released in 2006.
Limited to only five cases, they
came in a hand-carved,
camel bone box, and cost
a mind-blowing $1,150 each.
Not each case. Each cigar.
Each case had 100 cigars
and cost $115,000. For
something you set on fire. Intentionally.

And that makes this year's most expensive cigar in the world, Gurkha's His Majesty's Reserve, at $15,000 per box of 20, or $750 for a single cigar, pale in comparison. Limited to less than 100 boxes, these premium stogies are made with the most expensive premium tobacco and are then infused with an entire bottle of Louis XIII cognac. Just because they can.

So if you're a recent lottery winner, or an Exxon/Mobil exec, it's definitely the ultimate (read: most obnoxious) show of your status and purchasing power this side of a Bentley. It just makes lighting it with a $100 bill seem redundant. $750 each $15,000 per box of 20
